Nintendo is suffering because of the iPhone. That's one.

Microsoft has failed? Oh, with the Xbox. Well it's a very small part of there business, so nothing they do financially is going to move the needle.

Has Kinect caught on with developers and gamers? Of course it hasn't. What more do you need to know? Did they capture casual gamers? Not really. Casual gamers played the Wii in 2006, and now they play games on their iPhones and Android phones. The Kinect hardware attachment itself did sell, yes, but those were sales based on an expectation of future awesomeness, that didn't really come to fruition. The game where you pet a tiger was pretty cool, but beyond that, I don't think the Kinect will be used to play the Cello, or deactivate a bomb anytime soon. MS got people excited about amazing technology. But Miyamoto is still the best at making F-U-N. Even if Nintendo may be demoted to 3rd party developer in the next 5 years, something I have no interest in seeing.

You need to really research before making a statement that Microsoft has failed, as Kinect hit the Guinness book of world records, for being the fastest selling unit in 60 days at the end of 2010, and Nintendo is spiraling downwards, not even Miyamoto can control this decline.

All the gifted people that I have heard talk or write about their "gift" talk about the importance of intuition. This is an area where our education system lacks big time. In language learning, this is one of the key skills, yet it is seldom or ever talked about. In fact the opposite happens. Instead, schools emphasise the need for the intellectual skills. So learners study rules, grammar, vocabulary but not paying attention to the need to redevelop their intuitive abilities. I say redevelop, because we all had that as we were learning our mother tongue.
Should you be interested in this I am writing a book on this very issue of how to get your intuitive skills moving in language learning currently, which will be available soon.
